Arsenal start this week’s Premier League action with the early kick-off on Saturday afternoon and they could welcome back the majority of their defence as Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Dinos Mavropanos have all been declared ‘fully fit’ ahead of the derby.

What it all means is that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the only player injured who isn’t called Welbeck or Holding. Mkhi is expected back in February after suffering a fractured metatarsal in his right foot.

What of Mesut Ozil, I hear you ask?

Well, he’s fully fit as well but it’s not yet clear if he will return to the starting lineup after his time on the sidelines with a knee problem or if Unai Emery will pop him back on the bench again. Against a side like West Ham we should see him start, but ‘should’ and ‘do’ are two very different things.

Ozil has played against West Ham seven times, scoring three and assisting two. Arsenal have won four of those games, drawing two and losing just one.

He has only scored more against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Ludogorets, although he has scored three and assisted six against Everton.
