Ramsey’s contract is expiring at the end of the season, and there are seemingly no talks planned over an extension. As a result, foreign clubs are now allowed to hold talks with the midfielder over signing him on a pre-contract agreement. for a free transfer in the summer.

Juventus’ director has confirmed that the Serie A champions are one of the teams following the Welshman’s situation closely.

“Yes, we are interested in Aaron Ramsey, he’s a great midfielder,” Paratici said. “He’s a great player, we really like him and he plays for a great team.

“His contract is expiring and we’re always alerted to situations that the market offers, so we’ve also been alerted to Ramsey. But at the moment he’s an Arsenal player, we’ll see.”

Ramsey remains a popular figure in North London, with chants of “sign him up” clearly audible around the Emirates Stadium after the 28-year-old’s goal against Fulham on Tuesday. However, it seems he can’t do anything to change Unai Emery’s mind at this stage.

Earlier this week, reports suggested Ramsey had already agreed on a deal with Juventus. He’s reportedly set to earn £120kpw with bonuses after tax with a ‘sizeable’ signing on fee. He currently earns £110kpw with Arsenal before tax, so that’s a fairly substantial pay-rise. We’ll see if the rumours are true.
