Denis Suarez has reportedly been chatting with Watford’s Gerard Deulofeu about playing for Arsenal.

The pair played for Spain’s u21s together and also spent time together at Barcelona and on loan at Sevilla under Unai Emery.

Watford’s training ground is close to London Colney and Spanish publication Sport, reports, “Their friendship led them even to choose the same neighbourhood where they reside [in Spain]. Denis and Deulofeu were neighbours in Seville, where they spent many hours together. The destiny has wanted to get their lives back to find the same destination, in the case that finally crystallizes the transfer of Denis Suarez to Arsenal.

“Deulofeu is delighted at the prospect of being reunited with a friend who not only has shared the clubs, but also career in the Spanish under 21s. Both have exchanged messages in the past few days, and Gerard has already spoken to Denis that in the Arsenal will have a habitat very conducive to success.”

It was also reported in Spain on Monday that Suarez’s loan move to Arsenal is ‘imminent’.

Sport write in a second article, “After completion of the pass of Munir to Seville, Denis will be the next change of scenery in the winter market. The conversations with the club ‘Gunner’ are too advanced, he will go on loan until 30 June.”

Suarez is expected to join on loan until 30 June with an option to buy that is not mandatory.
