The media in Bosnia are more than a little surprised to learn that Sead Kolasinac is the fourth-highest earner at Arsenal, bringing home just under £120kpw.
The defender arrived at Arsenal last summer on a free transfer from Schalke. With no transfer fee to pay the club were able to tempt him without Champions League football by offering a big fat paycheque instead.
He comes in behind Mesut Ozil (£350kpw), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (3£200K) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£180KPW).
I’m trying not to cry at how much we are paying Stephan Lichtsteiner compared to Nacho Monreal or the fact that Mohamed Elneny gets more than Lucas Torreira…
Writing in Fokus, a Bosnian publication, the unnamed author said, “It is not a big surprise that the biggest star, Mesut Ozil, is also the highest paid player with a fabulous 350,000 pounds a week, or about 770,000 KM!
“Immediately behind him, but with much lower incomes, Aubameyang (£ 200,000), and third place is Mkhitaryan with 180,000 pounds a week.
“What surprised many, and what would be the most interesting. It is our fans that our teammate Sead Kolasinac is the fourth-highest player of the London club with 119,500 pounds a week, or about 260,000 KM.
“It’s a monthly salary of more than one million convertible marks!”
