Nabil Fekir could finally be on the move but it looks like it will be to Spain and not England as reports emerge that his services have been offered to Real Madrid.

Nabil Fekir is a player who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal when Arsene Wenger was in charge of the club. In fact, the club reportedly agreed a £60m deal which never materialised.

As the summer approached earlier this year there were numerous reports that he had found an agreement with Liverpool, although the player and his father denied this was the case. They did, however, admit that they were in discussions with several clubs.

Now, as we approach another transfer window, the gossip mill around Fekir is starting up again with Real Madrid the club now in the hot seat.

The Spanish giants are said to be considering the feasibility of the transfer as they search for offensive reinforcements.

Arsenal haven’t been linked with the 25-year-old in any meaningful way since it was claimed they wanted to wrap up a £45m deal before the World Cup got underway. He was, apparently, Arsenal’s ‘number one target’ for the summer according to the Daily Mail.

Fekir, for his part, named Arsenal as one of six clubs he’d like to move to.

In 2015, his father told reporters: “If [Fekir] leaves, it will be for Arsenal. It’s the only club that can enable him to progress, with Arsene Wenger.”

Of course, much has changed since 2015. Wenger is gone and Fekir is now more of a household name.

Fekir is under contract until 2020 and is currently valued at around £63m putting him firmly outside of Arsenal’s price range even if they are still interested in him.
