Mesut Özil doesn’t want to leave Arsenal in January, despite all the speculation around his future, according to a report in Germany.

The speculation surrounding Özil’s future hit an all-time high this week after the German was left out of Arsenal’s squad to face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. Unai Emery insisted afterwards that this wasn’t to do with the playmaker’s recent injury, but it was just a ‘tactical decision’.

Since then, the papers have gone into overdrive, with The Times reporting that Arsenal are ready to sell or loan Özil, the Daily Mail claiming Emery is running out of patience with the star, The S*n claiming the Gunners have already set a £30m price tag to offload the German, and so on.

However, Christian Falk of Sport Bild in Germany claims their sources have informed them that Özil has no desire to move on in the winter window. He already refused an offer from Inter Milan last year, and he’s seemingly set to do the same if another offer comes in next month.

After his recent injury problems, most Arsenal fans are just hoping that Özil gets back out on the pitch to play some football, regardless of what happens next month. The team are in need of some creativity and if the 30-year-old could rediscover the form he showed against Leicester City, it would be a major boost over the festive period.
