Kieran Gibbs dropped by to visit Danny Welbeck on Saturday, as his former teammate continues his rehabilitation after multiple ankle surgeries.

Gibbs left Arsenal for West Bromwich Albion back in 2017, but he still has a lot of love from the fans at the Emirates Stadium after spending 13 years in North London. Those supporters were particularly pleased to see the left-back reuniting with Welbeck, with the 29-year-old posting a picture of the meeting on his Instagram story:

It’s always nice to see that the club creates an environment for the players where they can make friendships that last even after they’ve left. Hopefully, it’ll help Welbeck through his recovery to have the likes of Gibbs paying him visits.

As for Gibbs himself, he’s having a good season with West Brom. On a personal level, he made his 20th appearance of the campaign for his new club on Saturday, and he has three goals and four assists already. That’s half as many goals as he scored in his entire career with Arsenal.

That positive form is helping to push Gibbs’ team up the table, and they sit in third place just five points behind current leaders Norwich City. With any luck, the English duo will both be back playing Premier League football in no time.
