Jose Mourinho is hoping Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Marcus Rashford will all make swift returns from recent knocks to be available against Arsenal.

Unai Emery’s side take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, and you can check out this link for an Arsenal live stream of the game. The big question is over which players will be available for the clash.

Rumours in the past few days suggested Chris Smalling, Eric Dier, Phil Jones, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw were all doubts with various injuries and knocks, but it appears Jose Mourinho has some good news for United fans on that front.

The manager told his press conference that whilst Victor Lindelof will miss out, he’s hopeful that Smalling and/or Bailly can return to partner Jones in defence against Arsenal. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw is still a ‘doubt’ and Ashley Young will miss out with suspension.

Up front, Mourinho is also ‘optimistic’ that Marcus Rashford will recover in time. Former Gunner Alexis Sanchez is out for the remainder of 2018.

In previous years, it hasn’t really mattered whether Manchester United have a full strength side against Arsenal or not. Whichever players fill in end up having the game of their lives anyway. Let’s just hope that Emery’s side take confidence from the weekend derby win and end the run of poor results at Old Trafford.
