Borussia Dortmund are waiting for a bid for Christian Pulisic from Arsenal, who could move for the 20-year-old partly on the basis of his commercial value in the United States.

ESPN FC report that they’ve been told Dortmund are expecting a bid from Arsenal, due to Pulisic’s commercial draw in the USA. The Gunners are owned by American businessman Stan Kroenke, of course, hence the desire to appeal to stateside markets.

However, Chelsea have already submitted a bid of over €50m, according to the same report. Dortmund have ruled out a January transfer, but are taking the offer into consideration for the summer window.

In the meantime, they’re clearly hoping to rustle up more interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. All three have been linked with a move but are yet to make a bid, though it appears Liverpool are ruling themselves out of the race, given the strength of their current side.

Playing almost exclusively as a right-winger this season, Pulisic has three goals and four assists in 18 appearances for Dortmund.

Despite only turning 20 in September, the American already has 115 first-team appearances for the German side, so he could well have a big future ahead of him. We’ll see how he does in the second half of the season.
