Despite wanting de Vega to sign a new contract with them, AS report that the player has not yet signed the renewal that Barcelona have told his agent will be forthcoming but hasn’t yet materialised.

Although AS state that Real Madrid are watching the situation, they also claim that both Arsenal and Bayern Munich are ‘ready to incorporate’ the player who can chat to any foreign club from 1 January.

Currently, de Vega is sidelined with an adductor/groin injury that has ruled him out for the last two months. He is expected to return to action mid-January.

De Vega is a 5’6″ central midfielder who can also play as an attacking midfielder or second striker.

He is also the subject of a national team tug of war with both Brazil and Spain trying to get him to declare for them.
