Arsenal defeated Championship side Charlton 5-0 and are through to the knock-out stages alongside the other big guns Manchester City and Chelsea.

As expected, Joe Montemurro rang the changes and gave two full debuts to Ava Kuyken and Amelia Hazard. He also gave a debut to Hannah Dawbarn and Melisa Filis who came on as subs during the game.

These types of games are perfect to give the Academy youngsters a taste of first-team football and, hopefully, next week we will see even more of them against Millwall.

Anna Miedema and Katie McCabe got a brace each and Bethany Mead also got one goal in the 5-0 win.

Here is the current situation for each group before the final games next week:

Group one North

Qualified: Manchester City

Eliminated: Aston Villa, Sheffield, Leicester

Teams fighting for the second spot: Birmingham and Bristol who will go head-to-head next week.

Bristol need to win by four to go through.

Group two North

Qualified: none

Eliminated: Durham

Teams fighting for the two spots: Reading, Manchester United, Everton and Liverpool.

With the Liverpool v Everton game postponed, there are still four teams with a chance to go through.

Reading v Liverpool, Everton v Man United and Liverpool v Everton still to be played.

Group one South

Won the group: Chelsea

Eliminated: Yeovil

Teams fighting for the second spot: Brighton, Spurs, London Bees, Crystal Palace

All three games will be decisive next week with Brighton in the driving seat facing a game at already-eliminated Yeovil.

Group two South

Qualified: Arsenal

Eliminated: Millwall

Charlton and Lewes would need a miracle to go through. West Ham are likely to go through unless they lose by eight (8) to Championship side Charlton.

The group winners will play the quarter-finals tie at home with Chelsea the only team to have clinched first place in their group.

All will be settled next week, except maybe for Group two north as the postponed Merseyside derby needs to be rescheduled.
