Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Southampton on Sunday, the official league Twitter account have confirmed which kit Unai Emery’s side will wear.

Posting on Twitter on Saturday morning, the Premier League released a video with all the kits each side will wear in their fixtures this weekend. Arsenal are shown in their ‘mint green’ shirt.

Arsenal obviously couldn’t wear the red and white home kit on this occasion, considering Southampton’s home shirt is red and white as well.

However, it’s a bit surprising that the club haven’t used the blue kit more often. The 5-1 win over Fulham is still the only instance of the away shirt being used. There’s no real reason it couldn’t have been used on this occasion, and you’d normally expect to only use the third kit when both the away and home kits clash with your opponents.

Up to now, Arsenal have worn the third kit three times, in two draws and one win. The win came against AFC Bournemouth, whilst the draws were away to Crystal Palace and Manchester United. Hopefully, this weekend will add another win to the tally.
