Adrien Rabiot has reportedly ended all negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a contract extension, meaning he’d be able to leave the club on a free transfer next summer.
French outlet RMC (via InsideFutbol) report that Rabiot has put an end to extension talks, and he’s ‘prepared to leave the club in the coming months’. PSG asked the midfielder to clearly state his position at the end of last week and that was the answer he reportedly gave.
Arsenal, Tottenham, Barcelona and Juventus have all reportedly been keeping tabs on the player, and they’re now expected to make a move. To add to the speculation, Rabiot didn’t even make the PSG squad for their game against Bordeaux over the weekend, the first league game they failed to win all season.
The media have been linking Arsenal to a move for Rabiot for a while now. Over the summer, RMC reported that the Gunners and Barcelona were the two leading candidates in the race for the 23-year-old.
The difficulty at that stage was the price of the player. With Rabiot showing so much talent still in his early twenties, PSG would’ve wanted a fairly high transfer fee to let him leave. However, if he’s now potentially available for free, or at least on a cut-price deal in January, Arsenal can come back into the picture.

A defensive midfielder with a fantastic passing range and seven goals and nine assists since August 2017, Rabiot could add a lot to any team’s midfield. We’ll see if Unai Emery pushes for a reunion with his former player.
