Joe Montemurro has been heaping praise on Daniele van de Donk after the Arsenal star helped seal qualification for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France before opening the scoring against Everton on Sunday.

And he didn’t even mention her double-nutmeg that has gone viral and has people around the world talking about it.

“We’re getting her in positions where she can affect the game,” Joe Montemurro told Arsenal.com.

“She’s very good in build-up play, but she’s also very good in the second phase when we do go forward and she’s very good at getting herself in goalscoring positions.

“She’s a smart player and coupled with all of that, she’s also had the euphoria of qualifying for the World Cup, so it’s been a massive week for her.”

If van de Donk had a great week then Jordan Nobbs was on the other side of the coin. An innocuous challenge left her in a heap needing oxygen and a stretcher. While she was sitting up before being taken from the pitch, early fears that she had suffered an ACL injury were confirmed by Arsenal on Monday afternoon. The news is a massive blow to the player, club and Phil Neville’s England.
