A former referee once called Stephan Lichtsteiner one of the ‘most unpleasant’ players he’s ever had to deal with and now Luca Ceppitelli has said pretty much the same thing.

Speaking in an interview with La Nuova, Ceppitelli was asked if there was a player he couldn’t stand.

“Now he does not play in Italy anymore,” Ceppitelli replied. “It’s Lichtsteiner. Too many protests, gesticulating all the time, attitudes that could be spared, I do not like polemics.”

Since arriving at Arsenal, Lichsteiner has made himself a fan favourite with his 100% no-nonsense approach. He is the first in the faces of officials and opposition players and uses every inch of his vast experience to steal vital millimeters of advantage for Arsenal on the field.

That being said, he’s the type of player you despise when he plays against you.

I, for one, am just happy that he’s on our side for once.
