Bernd Leno and Alexandre Lacazette watched Arsenal’s victory over Blackpool from the crowd, after both missed out on the squad for the match.

Unai Emery chose to rest Leno ahead of the weekend, giving a chance to Petr Cech in the starting XI against Blackpool and putting Emi Martinez on the bench. Similarly, Danny Welbeck led the line on the night, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah on the bench, meaning Lacazette could focus on Saturday’s Liverpool clash.

However, both decided to attend the match and watch from the stands, as we can see from their Instagram posts:

It’s always nice to see injured or rested players turning up to watch their teammates play. It helps to maintain a sense of team spirit among the squad, and the fans love to see the stars join them in the stands for a day.

Hopefully, the same happens the other way around, and the likes of Martinez and Nketiah will turn up to watch Arsenal play Liverpool this weekend, even if they aren’t in the squad. Emery’s side will need all the support they can get to try and get a result in that one.
