Bayern Munich are keen to tie Aaron Ramsey down to a pre-contract agreement in January, according to reports.

The Daily Mail report that the Bundesliga club have ’emerged as shock favourites’ to sign Ramsey when his contract expires. The Welshman currently has a deal lasting until the summer of 2019, meaning he can start negotiating directly with foreign clubs from January.

As we saw last year, that tends to force a decision from Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez completed his move to Manchester United in January, and Mesut Özil signed a new contract around the same time.

According to the report, there are a number of English clubs interested in Ramsey as well. The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all linked to a move alongside the German side.

The difference is that none of the Premier League sides can speak directly to Ramsey until May. They have to get permission from Arsenal to do so in the winter window, unlike Bayern. As a result, Niko Kovac’s side are the favourites as it stands.

For the time being, Ramsey still seems to be giving his all in his appearances for Arsenal. Hopefully, he can have a good season, then we’ll just have to see what happens afterwards.
