Arsenal have made a new approach to FC Barcelona over the possibility of signing Ousmane Dembele, as the 21-year-old’s off-field problems with his club continue.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Arsenal have ‘returned’ to asked about Dembele’s situation at the La Liga club.

Arsenal are aware of the forward’s problems at Barcelona, with recent reports of him being late to training, seemingly feigning illness to get a day off and losing his place in the starting lineup. As a result, the Gunners have approached the Catalan club to see if they might want to sell.

Unai Emery is reportedly interested in Dembele, and the Frenchman himself would be open to a move to London. Plus, his friends like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are already at the club. Barcelona and Arsenal also have a good relationship at the moment, thanks to ex-Barca man Raul Sanllehi.

Under normal circumstances, signing a 21-year-old star talent from Barcelona while he still has three-and-a-half years on his contract would be pretty much impossible. However, given all those conditions, it’s definitely worth a shot from an Arsenal point of view.

The idea of having Reiss Nelson and Ousmane Dembele on the wings for the foreseeable future is a mouth-watering prospect.
