Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, the club have confirmed which kit Unai Emery’s side will wear.
For the second away game in a row, Arsenal are set to don their ‘mint green’ third kit, according to the official club website. Meanwhile, Bernd Leno, Petr Cech and Emi Martinez will put on their purple goalkeeping top and shorts, as seen below:
This will be the second competitive fixture in which Arsenal have worn the kit, after wearing it to Selhurst Park last month. The team will be hoping for a better result on this occasion, after only managing a draw against Crystal Palace.
After ending Arsenal’s 11-game winning streak, the kit is already starting to get a bit of a bad name amongst supporters. We all know how superstitious football fans can be, so a defeat on Sunday could really make them turn on an already pretty unpopular shirt. Alternatively, a first competitive win in the shirt could turn things around.
This won’t be an easy fixture though. Bournemouth sit just four points behind the Gunners and will hope to close that gap to one on Sunday. It’s up to Unai Emery and his team to make sure that doesn’t happen.
