Arsenal will reportedly bid £15m to sign Ezri Konsa from Brentford.

The 21-year-old Ezri Konsa arrived at Brentford for £2.85m from Charlton back in the summer but Arsenal’s scouts reportedly believe the 6ft centreback has what it takes to step up to the Premier League.

A dual-nationality defender (England and DR Congo), Konsa has represented England at u20 and u21 level and was in the starting lineup for Brentford’s EFL Cup game against Arsenal back in September.

Konsa’s tackling and heading ability are something of a concern and Arsenal would expect to see a massive improvement from him in that area should they sign him. Confident on the ball with an eye for a pass, he likes to dribble but also likes to stay on his feet when it comes to challenging for the ball. So, he’s like Mustafi but without the stupidity.

At this point there doesn’t seem much to the rumour which started in The S*n. They give nothing away about their source but it is an odd name to pull from nowhere so I believe Arsenal have, at the very least, sent some scouts to watch him.

Konsa is under contract until 2021.
