After struggling to make it into the starting eleven for Manchester United, Jose Mourinho says Alexis Sanchez is now ‘injured’ and won’t feature against Everton.
After a poor start to the season, Sanchez was already struggling for game time with his new club. His only start in the last month came in a 0-0 draw against Valencia, and he didn’t even last the full 90 minutes of that match. Now, Mourinho says the Chilean is injured, and he won’t play this weekend.
Update on Sanchez. "In this moment he's struggling, because he's injured and because he come to Chelsea to help the team. But, his physical condition was not good and then he had to stop. He was not available for Juventus and he is not available for tomorrow again." #MUFC

The injury is a bit of a convenient coincidence, considering how poorly the 29-year-old has been performing. He only has one goal and one assist in eight games this season, and four goals in 26 appearances for Manchester United overall. Mesut Özil, who chose to stay and sign a new contract, has four goals in his last six games for Arsenal.
As a result, Arsenal fans, among others, weren’t particularly forgiving of the Chilean’s latest fitness problems:

Hope he would laugh same way he does when substituted at Arsenal and when they were in predicament. The reverse now is the case for him at United. What a life!

Did you know that Danny Welbeck has scored more goals this season (5) than Alexis Sanchez since he signed for Manchester United (4)?

Without Sanchez, Arsenal are currently on a run of 11 straight wins. As mentioned, contract extender Özil is on a good run of scoring form, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined as the Manchester United man left Arsenal, also has eight goals this season. That’s not to mentioned former Red Devil Welbeck’s five goals.
Let’s hope Unai Emery’s side can keep making those who leave the club regret their decision.
