Mesut Ozil is often criticised for not doing enough but it’s hard to know what else the German should be doing after it was revealed that he has created more chances than anyone else in Europe’s top five leagues SINCE RECORDS BEGAN.
That’s right, not just since the start of the Premier League, when Sky Sports believe they invented football, or during his time at Arsenal, but since records began.
Sadly, I wrote the above paragraph before realising that these particular records only began in 2006 so the stat doesn’t carry the weight I’ve led you to believe until this point.
Still….it’s impressive, no?

Ozil has recovered from the back problem that kept him out of Arsenal demolition of Fulham. He is expected to be fit to face Leicester on Monday night when proper football finally returns.
