Sam Greenwood scored for the England u17s against the USA on Friday, bringing the goal contribution tally for Arsenal youngsters to 10 in just two days of the current international break.

Greenwood scored a great goal in England’s first game of their mini-tournament. He made an impressive run past three defenders before firing home in style for the equaliser. The Young Lions went on to win the opener 3-1 and will face Russia and Brazil in the other two matches.

After the win, Greenwood posted on Instagram to share his delight at getting another goal and another win.

Signed by Arsenal in the summer, Greenwood is yet another attacking talent to add to the academy’s growing list. The 16-year-old already has three goals and an assist for the club’s u18 side in just five appearances this season (two starts).

Greenwood’s goal for England makes it 10 direct goal contributions for Arsenal youth stars over the break.

Reiss Nelson got a goal and an assist for the England u21s, Daniel Ballard scored for the Northern Ireland u21s, Joe Willock scored and assisted for the England u20s, and Eddie Nketiah scored in the same game. Finally, Emile Smith Rowe scored and assisted for the u19s and Tyreece John-Jules scored for the u18s.
