Arsene Wenger has met with a number of representatives of Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.
With the rumours that Wenger’s considering joining PSG as a director of football, Paris United claim that he had dinner with the Ligue 1 club’s boss Thomas Tuchel a couple of weeks ago. They also write that he met with PSG owner Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani last August.
Not only that, but the former Arsenal manager has reportedly already made first contact with the general manager of PSG, Jean-Claude Blanc. The 68-year-old is returning to Paris in November, seemingly to hold another meeting over his potential appointment.
The final major hint that Wenger could soon be taking a job at PSG is that Tuchel and current sporting director Antero Henrique appear to have already fallen out. On this subject, Paris United claim the Henrique is ‘in the cold’ with the board. They reportedly ideally want to see him leave before the end of the year.
All in all, the signs point towards Wenger’s appointment in the capital of his home country. However, we are mostly relying on the reports of one news outlet here. If they’ve got the details wrong, it changes the whole story. We’ll see.
