Fans didn’t let Mo Salah’s injury absence get to them when the Egyptian team landed at Matsapha International Airport, swamping Mohamed Elneny instead.

While some in the crowd were reportedly overheard lamenting the Liverpool’s stars absence due to a muscular problem picked up in Egypt’s last game, others were happy to get a selfie with the Arsenal bench-warmer – including officials and airport staff.

According to the Times of Swaziland report, Elneny also picked up a muscular problem in the game against eSwatini (formerly known as Swaziland) a few days ago but is fit enough to be included in their final game of this interlull.

Egypt face the Sihlangu again in another Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday night, having won Friday’s encounter 4-1 (Elneny got an assist).

The players touched down in the landlocked country in thick mist with the aircraft having to be led by an airport car for 600 metres, apparently.

It’s the little details that make a story, eh?
