Danny Welbeck was forced to sit out of England training along with Alex McCarthy and Danny Rose as a ‘precaution’.

The Arsenal man has been called up ahead of England’s UEFA Nations League game against Croatia on Friday before they travel to play Spain in Seville the following Monday.

No further information was available at the time of writing about what the problem could be.

The 27-year-old is in the final year of his Arsenal contract and there has been little by way of rumour to suggest that he will get a new deal with the club. His agent, at the time of writing, is saying nothing on the matter.

Four goals and one assist in nine games for Arsenal this season so far is an impressive return from a player who often has trouble controlling his own limbs, especially when you consider he’s only played a total of 386 minutes.

That’s a goal or assist every 77 minutes.

Danny also has 16 goals and four assists in 42 games for England.
