Alex Iwobi put in another great performance against Leicester City on Monday, and his form has been so impressive he’s even earned himself a new chant from the fans.
Iwobi won the man-of-the-match award for his showing on Monday night. The fans certainly enjoyed the nutmegs and blistering counter-attacks, and they started up a new chant for him as a result.
Unfortunately, it seems like no one caught it on camera. However, Twitter user Gunnerblog was kind enough to recreate the chant for his followers. It’s obviously not the same as hearing it in a crowd, but it does the job for anyone who wants to know how it goes:
Enough of you have asked and sod it I’m in a good mood pic.twitter.com/7XW1IRqYjz

Generally, the Arsenal fans seem to love the new song:
That’s going to be my new ringtone.

Perhaps they’ll change their mind after hearing it in the stands, but we’ll have to wait and see. Twitter user Carl Craigslist is taking credit for coming up with it:
What a glorious evening, thoroughly enjoyed that. Personal highlight was not the incredible third goal, but my Alex Iwobi chant finally catching on after three years
— Carl Craigslist (@conroy_bumpus) October 22, 2018
Iwobi has one goal and four assists so far this season, which is the most assists of any Arsenal player, level with Hector Bellerin. That doesn’t begin to cover all the goals he’s been involved in though, with the Nigerian international putting in plenty of great work in the build-up this campaign. He deserves a new song, let’s hope it catches on.
