Earlier this week, Arsene Wenger admitted that he hasn’t been watching Arsenal matches since leaving the club.

Wenger met Arsenal fan Niall Moran at The Best FIFA Football Awards earlier this week. Moran asked the boss what he thought of the season so far, to which the 68-year-old responded that he’s yet to watch a game, and is spending his time travelling, painting and relaxing.

In all honesty, that’s what the former Arsenal boss should be doing. If he’s taking a break from the world of football while he makes his next career decision, it won’t help to spend every few days watching his old club play matches.

Some have questioned the decision though, pointing out that Wenger always said he’d become an Arsenal season ticket holder and go to matches. However, the Frenchman said he’d do that when he retires, not when he leaves the club. For now, he’s still being very clear with the media he hasn’t retired.

Unfortunately it means that we can’t get Wenger’s thoughts on the new boss just yet. The manager always appeared to be a fan of Unai Emery though. Back in March, he told beIN SPORTS that Emery is a ‘very competent person’ who PSG would be wrong to let go. Hopefully he feels the same about the Spaniard at Arsenal.
