Petr Cech showed his class after Arsenal’s victory over Cardiff City, first gifting his gloves to young supporters in the crowd, then making sure other stars did the same with their shirts.

Cech didn’t get much praise from fans online, after a shaky performance against Cardiff, but he certainly won over those in the ground. The goalkeeper showed his appreciation of their support by heading over to the away end and giving his gloves to a young Gunner in the crowd.

After that, according to witnesses, he then told Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to make sure their shirts went to younger supporters as well. Players will often throw their shirts into a crowd, but Cech wisely advised them to just hand them to the youngsters who will appreciate it much more.

Clearly the crowd loved it, and the two new signings are fast becoming fan favourites at Arsenal.

Hopefully it also went some way to improving Cech’s image in supporters’ eyes as well though. He’s always willing to admit a mistake, stand in front of the cameras after a defeat or go over to thank the fans after a game, and it’s good to see him passing those traits onto his teammates as well.
