Raul Sanllehi has already held talks with Boca Juniors over the signing of Cristian Pavon for Arsenal, according to a report.

Football.London claim there is ‘strong interest’ in the 22-year-old winger, and it’s Sanllehi leading the charge to sign him, rather than head of recruitment Sven Mislintat. The former Barcelona director of football has reportedly ‘already been in talks’ with Boca Juniors over the transfer.

We’ve known about Arsenal interest in Pavon for a while now. All the way back in January he told the media the Gunners were interested in him, and he was considering his options.

After that, the rumours died down when Pavon signed a new four-year deal to stay with his current club. However, if Arsenal and Sanllehi really are interested, the winger has a €50m release clause, so he’s not completely out of reach.

Pavon is a quick and exciting dribbler who loves to create chances. He could provide that spark out wide that Arsenal sometimes seem to be lacking in the current team.

The Argentine international has a couple of goals in his first five appearances of the season, so he’s pretty much picking up where he left off last campaign. In 2017/18 he scored eight goals and assisted 19, in 34 matches. Let’s see if he continues to progress between now and January.
