Sead Kolasinac and Carl Jenkinson have been snapped back in training early, despite reports they wouldn’t be back until next month.

Kolasinac and Jenkinson both picked up injuries towards the end of the transfer window, and at first Arsenal reported they could each end up being out until November. Then the timeframe shifted to “October/November”, then “early October”. Now, they seem to be back already.

Arsenal are keeping quiet on the development, not posting any updates on the situation. Presumably they don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too early. You can only find Jenkinson in the training pictures by looking in the background of one particular shot:

You can’t find Kolasinac in any of the pictures on the official account. However, he posted an update of his own on Instagram, showing himself walking into training with Mesut Özil and Mohamed Elneny, along with the caption: “Soon back to business!”

The pair probably won’t be available until October, at the earliest. Rushing them back just to watch them pick up further injuries wouldn’t help anyone. Nonetheless, it’s a promising sign to see them back out there, and hopefully soon Nacho Monreal won’t be the only fit left-back in the squad.
