Christian Kabasele will be available to face Arsenal this weekend, after the red card he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur was rescinded by the FA.

Kabasele was sent off with Watford 1-0 up against Spurs in their League Cup clash, leading to his team’s collapse and eventual elimination. VAR didn’t see any issue with the decision, even though the replays showed very little in the incident.

After Spurs enjoyed the full benefits of the incorrect decision, the FA have now decided to overturn it, so Arsenal don’t get that same opportunity. It’s great news for Watford boss Javi Garcia, who has picked Kabasele for 90 minutes in every Premier League match of the season so far.

Once again, Dele Alli throwing himself to the floor has paid dividends. Even though rescinding the red card is not good news for Arsenal, it’s good to see the FA at least admitting their mistake and letting the Watford man off.

The Hornets have had a good start to the season defensively, having only conceded six goals in the league so far. By comparison, Arsenal are up to nine. Let’s hope those two totals get a bit closer together on Saturday.
