Galatasaray are making progress in talks to sign Danny Welbeck from Arsenal this summer, according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish outlet Milliyet write that Galatasaray have made positive steps in preliminary talks with Arsenal. The two clubs are still a way apart in their valuation of the player right now though. The Gunners reportedly want €10m, whilst the Super Lig side are only willing to offer €5m.

Welbeck isn’t the only player on Galatasaray’s shortlist though. They’re also looking at Everton’s Oumar Niasse and Anthony Modeste of TJ Quanjian. In each case, they’re hoping the lure of Champions League football will be enough to convince someone to join.

As mentioned in previous articles on the potential transfer, Turkish-Football claim that sources close to Welbeck have told them the striker is happy at Arsenal, and doesn’t want to relocate to Turkey at this stage.

The Gunners also won’t be desperate to sell the striker, considering they can’t bring anyone else in until January anyway. If Welbeck isn’t pushing for a move, it’s hard to see any way the transfer goes through.

At the same time, the striker might start to get restless if he doesn’t get any minutes again this weekend against West Ham United. We’ll see what happens.
