Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham have all shown interest in 17-year-old winger Elvis Azah, after the youngsters trial in pre-season with Cardiff City.

Azah played for the Cardiff u18s in a friendly against West Ham, scoring twice, and clearly caught the eye during the match. The Daily Mail claim the three London clubs are all now fighting it out for his signature.

It wasn’t the youngster’s first Premier League trial, as Manchester United and Everton also both took him on temporarily, as well as Celtic in Scotland. It looked like Celtic might sign him back in February, with the Mail reporting the story back then as well, but it wasn’t to be.

Azah was born Ghanaian, which would usually create work permit issues when moving to English clubs. However, aged 11 he came to Ireland and received Irish citizenship, even playing for their national team at u15 and u16 level. As a result, he can now freely move to Arsenal or the others without any permit problems.

We’ll see how this one develops, but with Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah moving to the Arsenal first team, and Stephy Mavididi leaving for Juventus, there could be a space in the youth sides for another forward player.
