Arsenal and West Ham have agreed a £5m deal that will see Lucas Perez join West Ham on a permanent deal.
Lucas arrived at Arsenal two seasons ago in a deal worth around £17m. It was clear quickly that Arsene Wenger didn’t actually like the player and after a season of being denied a decent chance, he was sent out on loan where he struggled for the majority of last season
Speaking about the move before reports emerged that a fee had been agreed, Lucas’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle said: “I know that West Ham want him and they have made an offer.
“Lucas is happy at Arsenal but he wants to play regularly and West Ham is an option for him.
“There are other clubs interested but West Ham would allow him to continue in the Premier League and Lucas wants to stay in London.”
Calum Chambers, meanwhile, completed his season-long loan to Fulham.
The 23-year-old, who recently signed a new four-year deal with Arsenal, will be hoping to impress with regular Premier League football as he looks to nail down a starting spot at Arsenal in the near future.
Chambers will wear the number five and told the Fulham official website, “I’m really excited. I watched a lot of Fulham last season, I really like the way they play football, there’s a good manager, it’s a great club, so I’m really excited for the season ahead.
“Everyone can see that Fulham’s a club that likes to play football, play football from the back, through the lines. That’s the style of football I like as well, so I think it fits me and suits the way I play.”
