Arsenal 14-year-old Malcolm Ebiowei has been called up to the England u16 squad for a UEFA Development Tournament, and featured in a 1-0 win over Scotland.

Ebiowei previously played for Netherlands at u15 level, but now it seems England are trying to win him over, and they gave him an u16 call up this week. The player is of Nigerian descent, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Nigeria trying to make it a three-way battle for his allegiance.

The young forward is just 14 years old, but he’s already featured on the bench for the Arsenal u18s. A bit of a free-kick specialist, Ebiowei made the squad for the club’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea back in May.

Now he has an appearance at England u16 level to add to his CV as well. Ebiowei posted pictures on Instagram after the 1-0 win in their first match against Scotland.

Next up is a match against Turkey, and another opportunity to impress manager Kevin Betsy. It’s great to see Arsenal youngsters getting chances for their countries, so hopefully the rest of the tournament goes well.
