Chelsea are ‘ready’ to make a £30m move for Aaron Ramsey this summer, with Arsenal wanting the situation sorted before the new season begins, according to reports.

The Daily Mail write that Chelsea are preparing a late move for the 27-year-old, who is now in the final year of his contract with Arsenal. Unai Emery is reportedly confident Ramsey will stick around, but the club don’t want a repeat of last season, with transfer sagas dragging on into the campaign.

The report claims Chelsea are watching negotiations closely, and are ready to pounce at the sign of any deadlock.

One of the positives with this transfer saga is the early window closure, before the season begins. Last season we had to watch Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain play against Liverpool, days before he completed a move to Jurgen Klopp’s side. At least this time Arsenal can resolve the situation before the game against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Ramsey’s agent is hinting on social media that the Welshman could well be happy to stick around. Avid Sports and Entertainment posted a picture of the midfielder on Instagram, along with the caption: “Captain’s armband looks good!”

Hopefully this is just the Daily Mail trying to stir up some clicks ahead of the friendly match between the two clubs next week. We’ll have to wait and see.
