Galatasaray have pulled out of talks to sign Joel Campbell, according to reports in Turkey, but Lazio and Fenerbahce are still interested in the forward.

Turkish-Football claim Galatarasay sources have told them the club is no longer interested in signing the Arsenal man. They had previously held talks with Campbell and Arsenal, but after signing Henry Onyekuru on loan, they’re no longer in the market for a forward player.

Nonetheless, an exit from the Emirates still seems pretty likely at this stage. Fotomac write that Fenerbahce and Lazio are still after the 26-year-old, who only has a year left on his Arsenal contract. This is further to previous reports of the clubs’ interest in Italy, with Tuttosport adding that Lazio are the favourites right now.

Campbell first joined Arsenal all the way back in 2011, but in the seven years since he’s had six different loan spells, and has only made 40 appearances for the Gunners.

Last season was a bit of a disaster for the 26-year-old forward, with a number of injuries holding him back from getting any consistent game time. However, he came back to score in the last match of the season for Real Betis, then assisted one goal and won a penalty for another in his limited time on the pitch at the World Cup.

Hopefully a new club will take a chance on the forward, and he can play more regularly next year.
