Arsenal have reached a multi-million pound kit manufacturing agreement with Adidas starting next season, according to reports.

For a few months now the media have linked Arsenal to a deal with Adidas, when their current contract with Puma expires at the end of the season. Arseblog now appear to have confirmed the deal during their podcast, calling it “done and dusted”.

Not too long later, early on Tuesday morning, Ian Wright also seemed to hint at the deal being done. He posted on Instagram to say how he’s “so pleased Adidas are back sponsoring after this coming season”.

Nothing is official just yet, but it looks like being a massive increase on the current Puma deal.

Football.London reported that Arsenal were eyeing a £60m-a-year deal in April, and rumours on social media suggest that’s what the final offer was before the reported agreement. The club’s previous deal was £30m-a-year.

Arsenal really needed an increase like that, to try and keep up with the richest clubs in the league. Most of Manchester United’s commercial deals are way ahead, as are Chelsea’s, and Manchester City just keep spending hundreds of millions every window regardless of what the books say.

Hopefully the new record sleeve sponsorship deal, combined with this big kit manufacturing contract, should help Arsenal get back in contention at the top.
