Arsenal have signed Sokratis Papastathopoulos with only the official announcement to come.
Writing in Wednesday’s Daily Telegraph, Jeremy Wilson notes that the deal is done.
Kicker in Germany do the same, stating that Sokratis is Arsenal’s third signing under Unai Emery with the official announcement the only thing outstanding.
Sky Sports reporter, Dharmesh Sheth, also confirmed that the deal to bring the 30-year-old defender to Arsenal is done.
“We understand they have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos,” he said. “That transfer is expected to be formally announced on July 1. That seems to be all done according to our information. Why July 1? It’s the start of the new tax quarter in Germany.
“The next one is Caglar Soyuncu. His agent says Mislintat has been an admirer since he was at Dortmund. He says, the agent that is, that talks are concrete and all that needs to be determined is the price.”
David Ornstein has also confirmed that the Sokratis deal is done.
As widely reported Arsenal in talks to sign Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira. No agreement but central midfield a priority & 22yo Uruguay int’l seen as ideal fit technically + financially. #AFC also want a GK after defensive signings of Lichtsteiner & Sokratis (announced July)

The deal is expected to be announced in July. This has been the case all along with this transfer. BvB want to include his sale in their next set of financial results. Their financial year ends at the end of this month.
