Olympique Marseille want at least €30m for Morgan Sanson, if Arsenal or one of the other Premier League clubs after him want to seal his signature, according to reports in France.

French publication La Provence understand that Marseille won’t discuss a transfer for less than €30m (£26.5m). France Football write that a fairer price would be around €23m (£20.3m), but clearly the Ligue 1 club are trying to take advantage of the English Premier League money, as most European clubs do.

Last week, Sanson’s agent explained to the French media that Arsenal and Tottenham are both closely following his client. He revealed that Chelsea pulled out of the race to focus on other targets, but the North London rivals are both still in for the player.

This was further to previous reports from Arnaud Tulipier on Arsenal’s interest. As we pointed out, Tulipier has a good record when it comes to Sanson, so it was a story worth paying attention to.

Arsenal certainly need to make some signings in the middle of the park. Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Francis Coquelin have all already left, and Jack Wilshere could be on his way soon as well. The Englishman has a contract offer on the table, but is yet to accept it.

Sanson scored 12 and assisted three in 2017/18, as well as contributing well at the other end. He made 53 appearances for the season, in an impressive campaign for the club. However, they just missed out on Champions League football at the end.

Let’s wait and see if Arsenal have €30m to spare for his signature.
