Fans will be delighted to hear that Arsenal have offered Aaron Ramsey a new deal.

Jeremy Wilson, writing in Tuesday’s Telegraph, drops a lot of information. Most of it is about transfers in this window, but in amongst all the new and shiny players is the line, “…contract offers have been made to both Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.”

Ramsey is out of contract next summer and many Arsenal fans are not only desperate to see him extend his stay with the club, but they have been pleading with Arsenal to make him captain.

Other news that Wilson delivers:

• A deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos is done.
• Arsenal remain in advanced negotiations for Lucas Torreira. The fee is £25m and payments will be spread over ‘several’ years.
• Bernd Leno will sign for Arsenal for a fee of £22m.
• Arsenal are still interested in signing Yacine Adli.
