L’Equipe write that the English midfielder’s representative met with Henrique this week, with a view to a potential move. However, the report goes on to say that new manager Thomas Tuchel isn’t interested in the player.
From the sounds of things, Wilshere’s agent is offering out the player to top European clubs to try and generate some interest. With a real outside offer on the table, perhaps the representative hopes he can force Arsenal into giving the midfielder an even more lucrative contract than the current terms they’re offering.
Alternatively, maybe Wilshere really does just want to leave for a club like PSG, in the Champions League. Perhaps he’s not impressed with the way Arsenal have handled negotiations, or their plan for next season.
I’ve never got the impression he wants to leave Arsenal to head off to Europe, but it only takes a couple of hours to travel between Paris and London nowadays, so it wouldn’t take him too far away from his family if they remained in the English capital.
We should get some resolution on this one before long, because Wilshere’s contract is fast running out.
