Mesut Ozil has taken to Twitter to confirm that he is both injured and expected to be fit for the World Cup as the S*n try to create a split in the Arsenal camp.
Ozil was missing from Arsenal’s final game of the season at the Emirates on Sunday and a number of fans online were less than impressed.
For many, it appears as if the German is picking and choosing the games he plays in, a narrative that the S*n have picked up and ran away with:
While it’s easy to see why some might think the mercurial midfielder is being selective about his games, it seems as if it could be the Arsenal management who are picking and choosing for him:
I looked at Ozil's entire tenure at Arsenal. Only a few things stand out; he never plays at Newcastle away; he doesn't play early stages EFLC or EL, he gets extra rest after Euro and WC, He does get breaks (plus some injuries) in January.

Of those ten matches 8 were away, and Arsenal lost just three, all this season.
An alternative view here is that Arsenal are managing his minutes and reducing his likelihood of injury.
Either way, there are really very few matches (non-junk matches) that Ozil misses.

In order to allay fears that he will miss the World Cup, Ozil took to Twitter to explain his injury.

There is absolutely no indication that there is any truth at all in the S*n’s backpage headline.
As you can see from the image that Mesut posted, he is sitting in between Mo Elneny and Santi Cazorla while they all enjoy a laugh about something during Sunday’s events.
