Speaking to the media this week, Julian Draxler recommended that his current club Paris Saint-Germain sign Mesut Özil from Arsenal.

In quotes reported by CalcioMercato, Draxler explained why he’d name his friend and international teammate as the player for PSG to buy from the national team.

“If I had to name a German to buy, I would say Özil,” he admitted. “He has incredible technique.”

That’s quite some praise coming from the 24-year-old. There’s so much talent in the Germany squad right now it’s hard to choose just one player.

Manuel Neuer is one of the world’s best in goal, and Jerome Boateng is the same in defence. Toni Kroos runs the show for Real Madrid, helping them win the Champions League season after season. Leroy Sane has a massive future ahead of him, as do many other German youngsters. They’ve even found a very promising striker in Timo Werner.

It’s no secret how well respected Özil is in Germany though. The World Cup winner has won five of the last seven of Germany’s Player of the Year awards. He missed out to Kimmich in 2017, but will be looking to reclaim the award with big performances in Russia this summer.

Thankfully, the playmaker has already signed a long-term contract with Arsenal, so we don’t need to worry too much about PSG stealing him away.
