Arsenal have reportedly agreed a new deal with Alex Iwobi according to an exclusive in ScoreNigeria who often get reliable reports about African players.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal in 2015 just before his first-team breakthrough with the side meaning his current contract expires in 2020..

Iwobi has been at Arsenal since he was just eight years old, and, although he has come in for heavy criticism this season, mostly from people who forget he is only 22, he looks to have a great future ahead of him.

“He will renew his contract in the summer,” a source told ScoreNigeria.

Iwobi is believed to be on £30kpw which is a great salary by the standards of us mere mortals. But for a regular Premier League starter at Arsenal, it’s not that great.

It’s not clear how much his payrise will be but it is likely to be substantial.

Iwobi has made 36 appearances this season, scoring two goals and assisting five. He averages around 66 minutes per game at present.
