Jade Moore was also drafted into the squad to replaced the injured Millie Bright after the Chelsea defender picked up an ankle problem.

Williamson is only 20 and has amassed over 70 appearances for Arsenal but has yet to be capped by England.

The England squad met up on Sunday ahead of Friday’s games and Neville said getting his squad together was like ‘Christmas Day’.

“The worst thing about international management is the time between games where you get itchy feet,” Neville said.

“You go and watch them but you can’t really speak to them, you can’t coach them, and we’re obviously in contact but you can’t get out on the grass.

“So on Sunday when I woke up it felt like Christmas Day, it really did.”

England play Wales at St. Mary’s, Southampton, on Friday night with a 7pm ko. Wales are currently top of Group 1 with 10 points from four games. They sit one point ahead of England who have played a game more.
