Three Arsenal players have been selected by UEFA for their Europa League Team of the Week despite their poor showing in Moscow on Thursday night.
While it is perhaps no surprise to see the likes of Mohamed Elneny, who assisted both goals, and Danny Welbeck, who scored the Arsenal’s opener to get them back into the leg and settle their nerves in the tie, included, spotting an Arsenal defender in the Team of the Week is a bit of a surprise.
Yet, there Laurent Koscielny is.
The Frenchman was Arsenal’s highest-rated defender in the game, racking up a 7.88 on whoscored.com compared to Shkodran Mustafi’s 7.03 which seems a little high if you ask me.
The German did not enjoy a good night, once again.
Welbeck was rated at 8.38 while Elneny, who grabbed an Ozilesque assist with his slide-rule pass to Welbeck, got 8.54, making him the highest-rated player from both sides.
