Not one Arsenal player made the CIES Football Observatory’s top 50 players for transfer value increase in the last six months, whilst other Premier League stars topped the list.

The Football Observatory‘s list compared players from the top five European leagues, but Premier League players dominated the top 10.

Mohamed Salah has the biggest increase (+€74.7m) which is unsurprising given his form this season.

After that comes Manchester City stars, Ederson (+€74.4m) and Sané (+€63m), thanks to their key roles in the side’s domestic dominance. Gabriel Jesus (+€53.1m), Joe Gomez (+€48.3m) and Davinson Sanchez (+€42.2m) also make the top 10.

The only non-Premier League player breaking up the top six is Kylian Mbappé in fourth (+€54.7m).

Unfortunately for Arsenal, they don’t have any entrants on the list.

It’s hard to argue with that either, as none of the squad have really shown vast improvements recently.

Even players who have performed well, like Aaron Ramsey or Mesut Özil, generally haven’t exceeded expectations significantly .

To rub salt in the wounds even further, former Gunner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (+€28.1m) is 25th.

Personally, I still don’t think he’s playing any better than before, but clearly public perception is helping him out.

Hopefully Arsenal do a bit better in the next six months.
