Former Spurs star Luka Modric is reportedly considering a return to north London, but this time the 32-year-old allegedly wants to join the red side.

According to Diario Gol, Modric is looking for a fresh start in a new team and is considering a move to Arsenal.

The 32-year-old, who signed for Real Madrid from Spurs in 2012, isn’t in the best form and Los Blancos are therefore reportedly willing to offload him in the summer.

The attacking midfielder, who was superb during his four years in the Premier League, has made a total of 244 appearances for Real during his time in the Spanish capital. This season, he’s made just 17 La Liga starts.

With two-and-a-half years left on his contract in Spain, it’s unclear how much Real would want for Modric. Transfermarkt value him at €40m – £35.3m – despite his age. However, I highly doubt that Arsenal will even be in the mix.

Arsene Wenger already has Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to choose from so signing another attacking midfielder when Arsenal so desperately need defenders would be beyond stupid.

What’s more, while the Express insist that Modric’s Spurs past won’t hamper his chances of signing for Arsenal, I’m sure it would at least make him think twice.

The Spanish report says Modric could also return to Spurs.
